New Delhi- The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the addition of a total of 30 MBBS seats to the Round 2 seat matrix of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET UG) Counselling for the academic year 2026 after three medical colleges informed about addition of seats .

In this regard, MCC has issued a notice stating that the committee has received information from 3 medical colleges about the addition of these seats to the Round 2 seat matrix. Therefore, candidates will be able to include the newly added seats in their choices once the choice-filling process resumes.

However, MCC said the choice-filling process has been temporarily halted following the addition of the new seats. The process was scheduled to resume after 7:00 PM on September 5, 2026.

Hence, the candidates participating in Round 2 are advised to review the updated seat matrix and consider the newly added seats while arranging their preferences. MCC has also asked candidates to regularly check its official website for further announcements and counselling-related updates.

The newly added seats are spread across three institutes, i.e. Bagalkote Medical College and Research Institute, Bagalkote, Government Medical College, Chapra (Saran) and Shri Ram Janki Medical College and Hospital, Samastipur.

As per the notice, a total of 15 MBBS seats have been added to Bagalkote Medical College and Research Institute, 7 MBBS seats to Government Medical College, Chapra (Saran), and 8 MBBS seats to Shri Ram Janki Medical College and Hospital, Samastipur.

With these additions, candidates participating in NEET UG 2026 Round 2 counselling will have additional MBBS seats to consider during choice filling. Candidates should check the updated seat matrix carefully before submitting or modifying their preferences
