NEET counselling 2026: MCC opens seat resignation facilty for round 1 Float candidates, check details

New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has opened the resignation/seat withdrawal facility for FLOAT candidates of Round 1 of the NEET UG Counselling for the academic year 2026-27.

The announcement was made through a notice issued by MCC under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The facility is specifically meant for FLOAT candidates who had earlier joined a Round 1 seat allotted through MCC counselling but now want to resign or withdraw from that seat.

According to the MCC notice, candidates can resign their joined Round 1 seat till 02 September 2026.

For candidates reconsidering their Round 1 admission, the timeline is particularly important since the benefit of resignation without security deposit forfeiture is tied to completing the process within this prescribed window.

As mentioned in the notice, the candidates should take note of the following instructions w.r.t. resignation-

1 Candidates are advised to ensure that they Resign / Withdraw their Round-1 seat by logging into their account and generate Seat Withdrawal slip online, failing which the resignation will be treated as ‘Null & Void’.

2 The resignation given within the stipulated time mentioned above will be without Forfeiture of Security Deposit.
