Soon after the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2026 re-examination was conducted across the country, National Testing Agency (NTA) Director General Abhishek Singh expressed confidence in the integrity of the process, stating that the agency had not received any paper leak-related complaints so far.

The re-test, held on June 21 after the cancellation of the original May 3 examination over alleged paper leaks and organised malpractice, was conducted under unprecedented security arrangements. Singh said preliminary reports from states and examination centres indicated that the exam was conducted smoothly and credited the support of multiple government departments for its successful execution, according to a Deccan Herald report.

Describing the exercise as a “whole-of-government approach,” Singh said more than 20 lakh candidates appeared for the examination and that authorities successfully prevented several attempts at malpractice, including impersonation, forged admit cards and candidates carrying prohibited items. The re-exam featured enhanced security measures such as biometric authentication, CCTV surveillance, frisking, handheld metal detectors and transportation of question papers through Indian Air Force aircraft.
