K.S.R. INSTITUTIE OF DENTAL SCIENCE AND RESEARCH

Prof. Dr. Sharath Asokan is the Head of the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, KSR institute of Dental Science and Research, Tiruchengode. He was the youngest and the third Pediatric Dentist from India to have completed his doctorate (PhD on Oil Pulling Therapy) in 2010. He was awarded the “Young Pedodontist Research Award” for the year 2008 by the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry (ISPPD) and the “Health Excellence Award” for the year 2009 awarded by Indian Board of Alternative Medicines (IBAM). He received the “Young Dentist Award” from The Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University, His Excellency, The Governor of Tamil Nadu, Dr. K.Rosaiah in the Dentist Day Celebrations in 2012.

Dr.Sharath Asokan attended the Summer Institute on Dental Clinical Research Methods in the University of Washington, Seattle, USA in 2008. He has written and edited chapters for three most sought after Indian textbooks in Pediatric Dentistry. He has delivered over 93 guest lectures across the sub-continent and has about 70 publications in peer-reviewed indexed journals to his credit. He is currently a Member of the Postgraduate Board of Studies, The Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University, India. He is the External Expert, UG Board of Studies, Vinayaka Missions Sankarachariyar Dental College (VMSDC), Salem and External PhD Guide for Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai. He is also a registered PhD Guide for Lincoln University College, Malaysia.
