The college has excellent full time teaching faculty under the leadership of Dr. L. Krishna Prasad, the Dean of the College. He along with other key faculty members are devoting their precious time for the development of the institution and for the welfare of the students. The college has a state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities and is rated one of the best. The college has international student and faculty exchange programs with: Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, USA; Faculty of Dentistry, University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong; MAHSA University, Malaysia; The Faculty of Dentistry of Prince of Songkla University, Thailand. The college has a strategic tie-up with Ramesh Hospitals, Guntur and NRI Medical College & Hospital for clinical and pre-clinical training for its students.

SIDS has been the first choice for graduate and post graduate dental education for aspiring students offering them high quality education and training.

The faculty at SIDS comprises of leaders in the profession, outstanding clinicians, and teachers of national and international repute. Few faculty members are in the executive committees of international and national professional bodies, few are serving as editors of various dental journals and as members of the Board of Studies of the University. Under the tutelage of highly trained and productive teaching faculty, the students acquire a solid foundation in preparation for their future roles as quality oral health care professionals. The knowledge and the skills acquired at SIDS allow the students to diagnose, manage, and prevent various oral health problems while exercising empathy and professionalism all the way.

Situated very near to Guntur city, the college has the benefit of a large pool of patients who seek oral health care at its clinics. Other training opportunities in patient care include scheduled postings to affiliated hospitals and participation in outreach activities. The institution has collaborations with many prestigious national and international institutions.
