Growing awareness about dental health across both rural and urban India has significantly increased the demand for advanced dental facilities and skilled professionals. Recognizing this need, a group of dynamic professionals from diverse backgrounds headed by the founder Chairman Shri Prakash Davara came together with a shared vision: to contribute meaningfully to dental education and healthcare. This vision led to the establishment of Barfani Academia, and laid the foundation for a premier dental institution in Bilaspur. Soon after the New Horizon Dental College and Research Institute (NHDCRI) was set up in the outskirts of Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. Designed as a state-of-the-art facility, NHDCRI was the first dedicated dental institute in the region, committed to delivering excellence in education, patient care, and research. In 2006, the Government of India approved the institute to offer the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program, marking the beginning of its journey in training competent dental surgeons. The college was officially inaugurated by Dr. Raman Singh then Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, with Dr. Anil Kohli, then President of the Dental Council of India, as the Guest of Honour. Set within a spacious campus and equipped with cutting-edge dental technology, NHDCRI offers an integrated learning experience. Students get benefits from a balanced curriculum that combines theoretical instruction, hands-on lab training, and extensive clinical exposure—ensuring a comprehensive understanding of dentistry and its vital role in overall health. Since its inception, the dedicated faculty and support staff at NHDCRI have remained steadfast in their mission to improve oral healthcare and empower the next generation of dental professionals.

In 2025-26, New Horizon Dental College and Research Institute enters into its twentieth academic year. Nineteen years is a remarkable period in the life of an institution to count its achievements. I boast of a purposeful shape and direction took place from the foundation period, which has definitely resulted in creating rich legacy for the students.
I along with the faculty of this college, feel proud to say that most of the students from the various batches of this college who have successfully completed their BDS Course and MDS Course have opened their own clinics and have started serving the society.
Our emphasis has been to provide quality education to the students. This can be best seen to be believed. The labs have been furnished at par with the best medical and dental colleges. The college has a library equipped with thousands of medical and dental titles, besides Indian and international journals. The library keeps open up to 10 PM to enable students to take optimum advantage to the facilities available.
College bus fetches day-scholars from various collection points in the city to reach them on time. Besides academics, co-curricular activities also have always been given adequate attention in this college. We believe that cultural and sports activities are integral part of education.
Service to the patients being the prime object of any doctor, the happiest moment would be the day when we would be able to send our products as good will ambassadors to various remote areas of our own an well as foreign countries. Our concentration, hence, has been on quality from the day first.
